Aromatic orange cake

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 120 g margarine
  • 100 g sugar
  • 2 m.-sized eggs
  • 50 g cornstarch
  • 150 g flour
  • 1 tsp, leveled baking powder
  • 4 orange(s) (organic), untreated
  • 3 tbsp, heaped orange marmalade

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Add the sugar, eggs, cornstarch, flour, and baking powder to the softened margarine in a bowl. Using the dough hook of an electric mixer on high speed, mix everything until you have a smooth dough. Grease a baking tray – or just half of one – or line it with baking paper. Using a folded strip of aluminum foil, cut the baking tray in half crosswise. Pour the dough onto the prepared half of the baking tray and smooth it out. Brush the oranges under warm water and then cut into slices about three millimeters thick. Depending on the size, you will need 15 to 21 slices. Do not remove the peel. Cover the entire dough with overlapping orange slices. Bake the cake at 200 degrees Celsius, fan oven 180 degrees Celsius, gas mark 3, for about 20 minutes. Then let the cake cool slightly and stir the orange marmalade until smooth. This can also be warmed up a little beforehand. Now glaze the top of the cake completely with the marmalade. Once it has dried, serve.
