Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 2 ½ cups flour
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt, very fine
  • 60 g cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 shot of maple syrup, for non-vegans also honey
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar, or white balsamic vinegar
  • ½ cup(s) oil (soy), or other neutral oil
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • Fat, for the shape
  • 110 g margarine
  • 60 g cocoa powder
  • 8 tbsp soy milk (soy drink), with vanilla flavor if desired
  • 200 g sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

without egg and milk, for 10 pieces

Dough: Mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Dissolve cocoa and cinnamon in the water, bring to a boil in a saucepan, remove from heat, and add to the flour. Stir in sugar, maple syrup, apple cider vinegar, soybean oil, and vanilla sugar, adding a little more water if needed until the dough reaches a nice consistency. Then pour into a greased springform pan and bake at 180°C for about 25-30 minutes. Cream: Melt margarine, cocoa, soy milk, sugar, and vanilla sugar in a saucepan, boil for one minute, and then let cool. When the cake is cool, cut it in half and spread the cocoa cream over the base, top, and sides.
