Apple-poppy seed cake Qadamgäh

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 100 g raisins
  • 100 g rum, 54%
  • 600 g apples, (3) approx.
  • 250 g poppy seeds, ground
  • 1 bag of baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 liter grape juice, red, naturally sweet
  • 140 g cornstarch (Mondamin)

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Total time approx. 2 hours 15 minutes

Soak the raisins in rum for about 2 hours (this can be omitted). Grind the poppy seeds. Coarsely grate the apples around the semolina. Mix the baking powder with salt and Mondamin. Add the poppy seeds, grated apples, grape juice, and raisins (you can also use them without soaking them); mix everything together (without the rum). Pour into a springform pan lined with baking paper and smooth the surface. Bake in a cold oven at about 150°C (fan oven) for about 60 minutes. Preheat to about 180°C (top and bottom heat) and bake for about 40-50 minutes.
