Spread the love

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 500 g mushrooms, large
  • 250 g cream cheese
  • some salt
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • some pepper, freshly ground
  • 200 g cheese (Gouda or Emmental), grated
  • possibly chili or herbs of Provence

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

as a main course or side dish, vegetarian and suitable as a food combining dish

Clean the mushrooms and remove the stems. Then place the mushrooms head-down in an ovenproof dish. For the filling, season the cream cheese with crushed garlic, salt, and fresh (!) pepper. If you like it a bit spicier or more aromatic, you can add some chili (powder or sauce) or herbs. Now place a generous dollop of cream cheese filling into each mushroom, sprinkle with grated cheese, and bake at about 180°C until the cheese is nicely browned (about 20-30 minutes, depending on the desired browning). Serve the mushrooms as a side dish or as a main course with, for example, salad.
