Chocolate buttercream

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 250 g butter
  • 275 g powdered sugar
  • 300 g chocolate
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch of salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

super easy, for beginners

Let the butter soften, but don’t let it melt. Break the chocolate into pieces and melt completely in the microwave. I always use 200g of dark chocolate and 100g of whole milk. I only set my microwave to 200 watts, which means the chocolate needs about 8 minutes and doesn’t burn. However, I take it out briefly after 4 minutes and stir vigorously. Once the chocolate has melted, stir again and let it cool. In the meantime, put the butter and sifted powdered sugar in a bowl and mix with a hand mixer until it forms a smooth mixture. Now add the vanilla extract and mix again on high for about 30 seconds. When the chocolate has cooled enough that the heat from the chocolate no longer melts the butter, add the chocolate to the rest and mix again on high until the buttercream has a uniform color. If the buttercream is too sweet for you, add a pinch of salt and mix well. This will reduce the sweetness somewhat. The cream can now be used immediately or refrigerated first. It’s enough for a two-tiered 26-inch cake.
