Apple – Onion – Sage Vegetables

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g red onion(s)
  • 30 g butter
  • 2 sprigs sage
  • 125 ml wine, white, dry
  • 500 g apples
  • 8 tbsp apple juice
  • 1 pinch of sea salt
  • 1 pinch of pepper, freshly ground
  • 1 tsp sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Great with stir-fries

Quarter the onions. Heat the butter and sauté the onions until translucent. Roughly chop the sage, sprinkle over the onions, pour in the wine, and sauté for 3 minutes. Cut the apples into eighths and core them. Mix the apples with the apple juice and add to the onions. Season with salt, pepper, and sugar, sauté for 5 to 7 minutes, and season to taste. Serve with pan-fried dishes.
