Caramelized onions

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 jar onion(s) (pearl onions)
  • 4 tbsp sugar
  • 2 ½ dl cola
  • 3 garlic cloves, squeezed
  • Tabasco
  • 1 bunch of parsley

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Grilled side dish

Drain the pearl onions and slowly caramelize the sugar in a saucepan. When it’s a nice golden brown, deglaze with cola and simmer until the sugar dissolves. Add the garlic and a few dashes of Tabasco (optional), and finally, add the pearl onions. Simmer for about 15 minutes, until the liquid has reduced by about half. Let cool, then add the parsley.
