Ingredients for 2 servings:
- 100 g oat flakes, wholegrain
- 100 g cheese, e.g. Gouda or Emmental
- 2 tbsp rapeseed oil or sunflower oil
- 5 tbsp milk
- 1 tsp, heaped herbs, chopped, e.g. parsley, lovage
- Salt or herbal salt
- some oil or margarine
Instructions
Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 8 minutes; Total time approx. 18 minutes
It’s best to finely grind the cheese in a Moulinette or other food processor; the finer the grind, the better the patties stick together. Mix the oats and cheese well in a bowl, add the oil and milk, and mix well. Season the mixture with chopped fresh or dried herbs and salt or herb salt to taste. Knead everything well with your hands until you have a workable dough. Then form 4 patties from this, making sure they are not too thick and do not fall apart too much at the edges; so flatten and press them down firmly. Then fry the patties in oil or margarine until crispy brown on both sides. We like to eat the patties with mashed potatoes and some vegetables or homemade zucchini chutney.
