Quark casserole with apples

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 80 g butter
  • 80 g sugar
  • 80 g semolina
  • 500 g quark (low-fat quark)
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon
  • 1 pinch of baking powder
  • 3 apples
  • 3 eggs

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Separate the eggs. Beat the butter, sugar, cinnamon, and egg yolks until fluffy. Mix the baking powder with the semolina and stir into the fluffy mixture. Add the quark. Beat the egg whites until stiff and fold into the mixture. Grease a baking dish and pour in the quark mixture. Peel the apples and cut them into rings or wedges. Press them into the quark mixture. If desired, top with butter flakes. Cover the dish with aluminum foil. Place the casserole in a cold oven, set the temperature at 220 degrees Celsius, and bake on the middle rack for about 60 minutes.
