Apple casserole with oat flakes

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 200 g oat flakes, fine
  • ½ liter of milk
  • 4 m.-sized apples
  • 60 g sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 lemon(s), untreated, including juice and zest
  • 100 g raisins
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 pinch of salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Peel and dice the apples. Mix well with the oats, milk, sugar, salt, egg yolks, raisins, cinnamon, lemon zest, and lemon juice. Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form and fold into the mixture. Pour into a greased and breadcrumb-coated baking dish. Bake in a preheated oven at 190°C for about 45 minutes. Serve hot, with vanilla sauce or whipped cream, if desired.
