Green bean stew

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 400 g beans, green
  • 300 g potatoes
  • 3 tomatoes
  • 1 large onion(s)
  • 1 tbsp savory
  • 2 tbsp butter or margarine
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 125 ml milk
  • 250 ml vegetable stock
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce, can also be omitted
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Wash and trim the beans and cut into bite-sized pieces. Peel and dice the potatoes. Peel and chop the onion. Wash and dice the tomatoes. Wash and pick the savory. Melt the butter in a saucepan and sauté the onion. Sprinkle the flour over the beans and stir to combine. Pour in the milk and vegetable stock and stir well to remove any lumps. Add the beans, potatoes and savory and simmer for about 15 minutes until tender. Season to taste with salt, pepper and Worcestershire sauce and add the tomatoes just before serving.
