Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 250 g sugar
- 125 g water
- 1 vanilla pod(s), including the pulp
- 1 tbsp beet syrup
Instructions
Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes
Split the vanilla pod and scrape out the seeds. Place the sugar in a saucepan and melt slightly, stirring constantly. Add the water and continue stirring until the sugar dissolves. Add the vanilla seeds, the pod, and the tablespoon of beet syrup. Simmer for about 15 minutes. Pour into clean bottles or screw-top jars. I add the beet syrup to give the syrup a light brown color. You can also omit it.
