Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 200 g sugar
  • 350 ml water
  • 1 stalk(s) cinnamon
  • 1 piece(s) star anise
  • 1 stalk(s) vanilla pod(s)
  • 2 carnations

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 12 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 12 hours 25 minutes

for homemade mulled wine or tea

Heat the water and sugar in a saucepan until the sugar has dissolved. Then add the spices and simmer gently for 5-8 minutes. Let the spices steep overnight. The next day, bring the mixture back to a boil and then pour into a boiled 500 ml bottle. If you prefer a more intense spice flavor, add the spices to the bottle. The spice syrup can be used for homemade mulled wine, punch, hot milk, and black tea.
