Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 steak(s) , butterfly steaks
  • 4 tbsp tzatziki
  • 4 handfuls of lettuce (coleslaw)
  • ketchup
  • salt and pepper
  • Spice mix, (gyros)

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

stuffed butterfly steaks

Brush the inside of the butterfly steaks with ketchup, season with pepper, salt, and gyro seasoning. Place coleslaw and tzatziki on one side of the meat, leaving the outer edge free, and then seal the halves with toothpicks. Fry in hot fat (cooking time depends on the filling and the thickness of the meat) for about 20 minutes, covering briefly and adding liquid at the end if desired. We prefer these parcels grilled, though.
