Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 onions
  • 1 stalk(s) leek
  • 2 carrots
  • 4 potatoes
  • 2 liters of meat broth
  • 500 g beef soup meat
  • 300 g pearl barley, medium
  • 1 small piece(s) of celery
  • salt and pepper
  • a little lovage (Maggi herb)

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 2 hours 20 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 50 minutes

Place the beef in a pan with the broth and onions and simmer for one hour. Add the rinsed pearl barley and simmer for another hour. Clean the leeks and celery, peel the potatoes and carrots, dice everything, and add to the soup. Cook for a good 20 minutes. Remove the meat, cut into pieces, season with salt, and return it to the soup until hot. Sprinkle with chopped lovage.
