Lime and Lemon Cake
The perfect lime and lemon cake recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
For the dough
- 300 g Flour
- 6 Eggs
- 250 g Margarine
- 150 g Sugar
- 1 packet Baking powder
- 2 Limes
For the casting
- 1 Lime
- 1 Lemon
- 50 g Butter
- Powdered sugar
Preparation for the dough
- Beat the margarine, sugar and eggs in a bowl until frothy. Sift in the flour and baking powder and mix all the ingredients together. Squeeze the limes and add the juice to the batter. Line a baking tray with baking paper and spread the dough evenly on it. Bake the cake in the oven preheated to 175 degrees for 20 minutes with convection.
- Take the cake out of the oven and as long as it is warm, pierce it several times with a fork so that the topping can soak in.
Preparation for the cake topping
- Squeeze the limes and lemons. Spread the melted butter on the cake and drizzle the juice over it. Finally, sift the icing sugar over the cake as you like.
