Lime and Lemon Cake

The perfect lime and lemon cake recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

For the dough

  • 300 g Flour
  • 6 Eggs
  • 250 g Margarine
  • 150 g Sugar
  • 1 packet Baking powder
  • 2 Limes

For the casting

  • 1 Lime
  • 1 Lemon
  • 50 g Butter
  • Powdered sugar

Preparation for the dough

  1. Beat the margarine, sugar and eggs in a bowl until frothy. Sift in the flour and baking powder and mix all the ingredients together. Squeeze the limes and add the juice to the batter. Line a baking tray with baking paper and spread the dough evenly on it. Bake the cake in the oven preheated to 175 degrees for 20 minutes with convection.
  2. Take the cake out of the oven and as long as it is warm, pierce it several times with a fork so that the topping can soak in.

Preparation for the cake topping

  1. Squeeze the limes and lemons. Spread the melted butter on the cake and drizzle the juice over it. Finally, sift the icing sugar over the cake as you like.
