Homemade Flatbread

The perfect homemade flatbread recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 500 g Flour
  • 150 ml Milk lukewarm
  • 1,5 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 packet Dry yeast
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 150 g Yogurt
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Flour for rolling
  1. Put the lukewarm milk in a bowl and mix in ½ tbsp sugar and the dry yeast. This mixture is left to rest in a warm place for about 20 minutes.
  2. Then lightly whip the egg and yoghurt, add the remaining ingredients and knead for about 10 minutes.
  3. Then cover the dough with a cloth and let it rest for an hour.
  4. Remove the dough after the resting phase and divide it into six even pieces. These are then rolled out to a thickness of approx. 5 mm – 10 mm and baked in a coated pan until bubbles form.
  5. If you want it a little more spicy, you can add some ground pepper, cumin and sesame.
