Homemade Flatbread
The perfect homemade flatbread recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 500 g Flour
- 150 ml Milk lukewarm
- 1,5 tbsp Sugar
- 1 packet Dry yeast
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- 2 tbsp Olive oil
- 150 g Yogurt
- 1 Egg
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Flour for rolling
- Put the lukewarm milk in a bowl and mix in ½ tbsp sugar and the dry yeast. This mixture is left to rest in a warm place for about 20 minutes.
- Then lightly whip the egg and yoghurt, add the remaining ingredients and knead for about 10 minutes.
- Then cover the dough with a cloth and let it rest for an hour.
- Remove the dough after the resting phase and divide it into six even pieces. These are then rolled out to a thickness of approx. 5 mm – 10 mm and baked in a coated pan until bubbles form.
- If you want it a little more spicy, you can add some ground pepper, cumin and sesame.
