Woodruff Cupcake

The perfect woodruff cupcake recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

For the tartlets

  • 2 Eggs
  • 150 g Sugar
  • 120 g Soft butter
  • 2 tsp Baking powder
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 packet Grated lemon peel
  • 175 g Flour
  • 120 ml Milk

For the frosting

  • 80 g Soft butter
  • 300 g Cream cheese double cream setting
  • 40 g Powdered sugar
  • 5 tbsp Woodruff syrup

For decoration

  • Green sprinkle decoration

For the tartlets

  1. Beat the eggs with the sugar until frothy.
  2. Add the butter and mix well together until a creamy mixture is formed.
  3. Mix the baking powder with the flour and sieve over the sugar-egg mixture.
  4. Briefly stir in the flour, salt and lemon zest.
  5. Slowly add the milk.
  6. Now fill the dough into muffin molds, max. 3/4 full, so that they don’t get too big.

For the frosting

  1. Take out and let cool down.
  2. Stir the butter until fluffy.
  3. Stir the cream cheese and powdered sugar into the butter.
  4. Stir the syrup into the cream until it is well distributed.

A tart becomes a cupcake

  1. Fill the frosting into a piping bag with a star nozzle.
  2. Now squirt the cream onto the tartlets.
  3. Decorate with the sprinkle decoration.
