Christmas Chocolate Cake
The perfect christmas chocolate cake recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
Cake batter
- 150 g Dark chocolate
- 250 g Butter
- 5 piece Eggs
- 120 g Sugar
- 2 tbsp Flour
- 3 tbsp Cocoa powder slightly de-oiled
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- 1 Shot Rum
- 1 packet Ginger bread spice
- Zest of an organic orange and an organic lemon
The following ingredients can be added to the batter according to your mood and taste
- Rum raisins
- Lemon peel
- Orange peel
- Ground nuts, almonds
Molding
- 100 g Cream
- 100 g Dark chocolate
anything else

- For the dough, melt the chocolate and butter over a water bath. Beat eggs with sugar until foamy, then mix in the flour, cocoa and the other ingredients (if you have a lot of dry ingredients (nuts), add some milk if necessary), then stir in the chocolate butter mixture. Bake in a buttered, floured springform pan in an oven preheated to 160 degrees for 30 minutes. Take out and let cool down a bit.
- Heat the chocolate and cream for the topping (DO NOT COOK!) And pour over the kitchen. If desired, now apply decorations.
- Do not read any further for children: The basic dough is sometimes also called “porn cake” (it tastes great).
