Baking: Almond Roll

The perfect baking: almond roll recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

* for the dough

  • 250 g Flour
  • 50 g Sugar
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 Egg
  • 60 ml Milk lukewarm
  • 0,5 Yeast cubes

* for the filling

  • 100 ml Milk
  • 50 g Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Rose water
  • 100 g Ground almonds
  • Without shell
  • 30 g Sultanas
  1. Mix the flour, sugar and salt. Crumble yeast in milk and dissolve in it, then add to the other ingredients together with the egg. Knead everything together.
  2. Cover the dough and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
  3. Meanwhile, prepare the filling. To do this, put milk and sugar in a small saucepan and bring to the boil. Then remove from heat, add rose water and almonds and stir everything together.
  4. When the dough has risen, knead it well again with floured hands. Then roll out approx. 20 x 30 cm.
  5. Spread the almond mixture on the dough, spread the sultanas on top.
  6. Now roll up the dough from the narrow side and place in a box cake tin. Let rise for another hour.
  7. After about 30 minutes, cut into the filling (zigzag). Bake at 180 ° C for about 40-45 minutes.
