Baking: Almond Roll
The perfect baking: almond roll recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
* for the dough
- 250 g Flour
- 50 g Sugar
- 1 pinch Salt
- 1 Egg
- 60 ml Milk lukewarm
- 0,5 Yeast cubes
* for the filling
- 100 ml Milk
- 50 g Sugar
- 1 tbsp Rose water
- 100 g Ground almonds
- Without shell
- 30 g Sultanas
- Mix the flour, sugar and salt. Crumble yeast in milk and dissolve in it, then add to the other ingredients together with the egg. Knead everything together.
- Cover the dough and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
- Meanwhile, prepare the filling. To do this, put milk and sugar in a small saucepan and bring to the boil. Then remove from heat, add rose water and almonds and stir everything together.
- When the dough has risen, knead it well again with floured hands. Then roll out approx. 20 x 30 cm.
- Spread the almond mixture on the dough, spread the sultanas on top.
- Now roll up the dough from the narrow side and place in a box cake tin. Let rise for another hour.
- After about 30 minutes, cut into the filling (zigzag). Bake at 180 ° C for about 40-45 minutes.
