Easter Egg in Nest

The perfect easter egg in nest recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

Eggs – makes 12 halves or 6 eggs:

  • 5 Eggs
  • 250 g Sugar
  • 250 g Liquid butter
  • 6 tbsp Advocaat
  • 250 g Flour
  • 1 pinch Baking powder
  • 1 Silicone baking pan for eggs

Filling:

  • 1 Pck. Custard powder
  • 300 ml Milk
  • 100 ml Advocaat
  • 4 tbsp Sugar
  • Some Nutella to glue
  • 6 Small stand, cut from the paper roll of kitchen paper, 1 cm high

Decoration:

  • 400 g White couverture
  • 50 g Coconut oil
  • Otherwise small chocolate bunnies, colored pearls or as you wish

Nests – makes 6 pieces:

  • 150 g Quark lean
  • 6 tbsp Milk
  • 6 tbsp Cooking oil
  • 75 g Sugar
  • 1 Pck. Vanilla sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 300 g Flour
  • 1 Pck. Baking powder
  • 1 Egg yolks for brushing
  • Green decorative sugar

Nests:

  1. Mix the quark with milk, oil, sugar, vanilla sugar and salt. Then add a good half of the sifted flour mixed with the baking powder and stir. Then knead the rest of the flour with the dough hook of the hand mixer underneath. Finally, work the dough a little more with your hands, form a ball, wrap in cling film and let it rest a little.
  2. Preheat the oven to 170 °. Later divide the dough into 6 equal portions and form a roll (approx. 1.20 m long, 7 mm thick) from each one. Cut this into 3 pieces of equal length and braid it into a braid and join it together to form a ring.
  3. Place the rings on a baking sheet lined with baking paper, brush with the beaten egg yolk and sprinkle with the decorative sugar. Baking time on the middle rack is approx. 15-20 minutes. They must be golden brown.
  4. Take out, let cool.

Filling:

  1. Cook a pudding from the ingredients. (There are only 400 ml of liquid on purpose so that it becomes a little more solid). Cover the finished pudding with cling film and allow to cool.

Eggs:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 ° (convection 160 °). Use 10 ° less for silicone baking molds.
  2. Beat eggs with sugar until frothy. Gradually stir in the melted butter. Then add the egg liqueur. Mix the flour and baking powder and sift into the egg mixture. Fold in carefully.
  3. Fill the baking pan (12 halves) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Possibly plan less time for baking when using a silicone mold. Make a stick test, no more dough should stick.
  4. Then straighten the cooled egg tartlets while still in the mold with a sharp knife and turn them out of the mold.
  5. Use a teaspoon or coffee scoop to peel out a hollow in the middle. Provide.

Finish:

  1. Fill the hollowed-out halves of the egg with the pudding. Brush the outer edge of the eggs well with Nutella and glue 2 halves together. Stand upright on top of each cardboard ring.
  2. For the decoration, melt the couverture and coconut oil over the water bath. Pour tablespoon at a time over the upright eggs until they are coated all around. Let something “put on”.
  3. Brush the nests on the inner ring with the couverture and then place 1 egg vertically in the middle opening. Decorate as needed.
  4. In this way, a happy Easter to all Kb-friends …………

Annotation:

  1. This fluffy eggnog batter for the eggs is also well suited for normal muffin forms and makes about 12 pieces.
