Pears – Carrots – Sauerkraut

The perfect pears – carrots – sauerkraut recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 1,5 kg Sauerkraut
  • 1 size Chopped onion
  • 1 tbsp Mild coconut fat
  • 2 fresh Diced pears
  • 2 medium sized Cut carrots
  • 2 tbsp Caraway seed
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 piece Bay leaves
  • 1 liter Water
  1. Sear the onion in the coconut oil, add the cut pear and let it turn to glass. Then add the sauerkraut and carrots, season everything with salt & pepper and pour water on top.
  2. Put the bay leaves (I broke them) on top and add some caraway seeds, close with a lid and bring the whole thing to a boil and simmer for about 1 hour.
  3. We had boiled potatoes with it.
