Baking: Wholemeal Spelled Bread

The perfect baking: wholemeal spelled bread recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 250 g Wholemeal spelled flour
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 pinch Sugar
  • 175 ml Lukewarm water
  • 0,25 Yeast cubes
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 3 tbsp Flaxseed crushed
  • 2 tbsp Sunflower seeds
  • 1 tbsp Pumpkin seeds
  1. Mix the flour, salt and sugar. Dissolve the yeast in the water and add to the flour together with the oil. Knead everything together.
  2. Cover and let rise in a warm place (e.g. on the heater) for about 1 hour.
  3. Then knead again, kneading in linseed, sunflower and pumpkin seeds.
  4. Now shape into a loaf, place on a baking sheet and let rise for another 20-30 minutes.
  5. Then lightly cut several times and spray with plenty of water (including the sheet metal).
  6. Put the baking sheet into the oven preheated to 100 ° C. Then switch it up to 250 ° C, switch it down to 200 ° C after approx. 15 minutes. Bake the bread for a total of 30-35 minutes.
