The perfect french fries – homemade – recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 1 kg Floury potatoes
  1. 1. Peel the potatoes 2. Cut the potatoes into approx. 5mm thick slices with a slicer. Not thicker, because then they will not be crispy, but dark and mushy. 3. Now cut the potatoes into small approx. 5mm strips. Then water well so that the starch is removed. 4. Put the cast iron pot – or a wok pan – on the stove and fill it with sunflower oil and heat it to 170 degrees. 5. Put the potatoes in the pot and let them boil. Turn over and over until they start to get crispy. Caution: once they are crispy – don’t let them out of your sight, otherwise they will very quickly become very dark. 6. Skim and bon appétit. My family can’t get enough of them and the french fries don’t taste like fat, even after potatoes.
