Poppy Gugelhupf

The perfect poppy gugelhupf recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 200 g Peeled, diced bananas
  • 200 g Ground poppy seeds
  • 200 g Room temperature butter
  • 300 g Icing sugar
  • 300 g Sifted flour
  • 100 ml Glass of banana and chilli fruit spread
  • 4 Pc Eggs
  • 2 a cup Sour cream
  • 0,5 packet Baking powder
  1. Toast the poppy seeds in a pan for 5 minutes without adding any fat. Separate the eggs, stir in butter at room temperature with icing sugar until foamy, slowly stir in the yolks. Mix the sour cream with the banana and chilli fruit spread. slowly fold into the butter mixture.
  1. Slowly fold the diced bananas into the butter mixture. Beat egg whites into firm snow. Mix the flour with the poppy seeds and baking powder. The flour mixture and the snow are now alternately lifted under the banana mass. Pour the batter into a greased bundt cake pan.
  1. The Gugelgupf is baked in a preheated oven at 180 ° C for about 50 minutes. Let cool a little and finish with icing sugar.
