Cheese: Cooked Cheese with Onions, Garlic and Bacon

The perfect cheese: cooked cheese with onions, garlic and bacon recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 50 g Butter
  • 1 piece Onion, small
  • 1 piece Clove of garlic
  • 50 g Bacon
  • 100 g Harzer cheese
  • 80 g Camembert double cream, very ripe
  • 1 tablespoon Cream cheese
  • 100 g Cream cheese, homemade from yogurt *
  • 2 tablespoon Cream 10% fat
  • Pepper and salt
  1. Peel and finely dice the onion and the clove of garlic. Also cut the bacon into tiny cubes.
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan and lightly fry the onion, ham and garlic cubes in it.
  3. Remove the rind from the Camembert and cut into small pieces together with the Harzer. Pour into the saucepan and slowly melt while stirring.
  4. Add the cream cheese and cream cheese and stir well. Dilute a little with cream.
  5. Season with salt and pepper, pour into a bowl and chill.
  6. * Put the yoghurt in a sieve lined with a strainer, cover, weigh down with a stone or something similar and place in the refrigerator overnight. Great drinks can be mixed from the whey. Process the cream cheese further as you like.
