Onions with Bacon and Cheese Topping

The perfect onions with bacon and cheese topping recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

for the cheese cream

  • 1 tbsp Rapeseed oil
  • Salt and pepper
  • 150 g Bacon slices
  • 300 g Raclette cheese
  • 50 g Sour cream
  1. Peel the onions and cut into thin rings. Heat the oil in a pan. Steam the onions over low heat for about 10 minutes, stirring frequently, taking care not to let them get too brown. Season with salt and pepper.

  1. Cut the bacon slices into fine strips. Debark the cheese, cut into cubes and mix with the sour cream (or crème fraîche).

  1. Place a few onion rings in the pan, cover with the cheese cream and bacon and bake in the raclette maker for about 5 minutes until the cheese is melted and lightly browned.
