Christmas Cookies: Cinnamon Balls

The perfect christmas cookies: cinnamon balls recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 2 Pc. Protein
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 130 g Powdered sugar
  • 200 g Ground hazelnuts
  • 1 tsp Ground cinnamon
  • White sugar pearls for decoration
  1. Beat the egg whites and salt until stiff. Gradually add the sifted powdered sugar. Cover and chill 50 g of the egg whites (is for the filling). Mix the ground nuts and cinnamon and fold into the remaining egg whites.
  2. Shape the mixture into small balls (approx. 2 cm in size) with damp hands and place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Use the handle of a wooden spoon or your finger to drill a small hole in the middle.
  3. Put the egg white mass that you set aside in a freezer bag and cut off a small point. Fill the holes in the cookies with it. Sprinkle with the white sugar pearls and bake in the preheated oven at 100 degrees (or fan oven 80 degrees) for about 45 minutes on the lowest rail.
