Ingredients

  • 1 roll Fresh puff pastry cooling shelf
  • 40 g Butter
  • 4 tbsp Brown sugar
  • 0,5 Grated tonka beans, alternatively 1 bag of bourbon vanilla sugar
  • 1 tsp Cinammon
  • 2 tsp Natural orange flavor
  • 2 tbsp Ground almonds
  • 1 Egg

Instructions

  • Roll out the puff pastry and let it rest for 10 minutes. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees (top and bottom heat).
  • Melt the butter in a saucepan, then let it cool slightly. Mix the brown sugar, grated tonka bean, cinnamon and orange flavor. Whisk the egg.
  • Brush the puff pastry evenly with the melted butter. First sprinkle with 3/4 of the sugar-cinnamon mixture, then pour the ground almonds on top.
  • Roll up the puff pastry firmly from the long side, press the ends down a little. Use a sharp knife to cut pieces about 1 cm thick from the roll and place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
  • Brush with the beaten egg, then sprinkle the rest of the sugar-cinnamon mixture on top. Bake in the oven for about 15-20 minutes until the almond and cinnamon buns are lightly browned. Guaranteed to succeed, ideal for spontaneous cravings and unexpected visitors :-). Have fun trying it out and have a nice Advent season!
