Christmas Cookies: Orange Balls

The perfect christmas cookies: orange balls recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 250 g Soft butter
  • 70 g Powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp Grated peel of an organic orange
  • 1 tbsp Freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 350 g Flour, preferably spelled flour
  • 60 g Sugar
  1. Mix the butter and icing sugar with the hand mixer until frothy. Add 1 tbsp of the grated zest and the orange juice. Gradually stir in a little flour until the dough is firmer. Knead in the rest of the flour with your hands.
  1. Shape the dough into small balls with a diameter of approx. 2 cm. This is best done with damp hands. Place the balls on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and bake in a preheated oven at 170 degrees for about 15-18 minutes until golden.
  1. Mix the sugar with the rest of the orange peel in the chopper and roll the still warm balls in it. Let cool down.
