Boulettes with Curry Sauce and French Fries

The perfect boulettes with curry sauce and french fries recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

currysauce

  • 1 Red Onion, finely diced
  • 2 Garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1 Red Chilli, pitted and finely chopped
  • 3 tsp Curry
  • 150 ml Cola
  • 400 g Chunky tomatoes
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Raw cane sugar
  • Olive oil

French fries

  • 3 middle Potatoes, waxy
  • 1 l Oil
  • Salt

Meatballs

  • 400 g Ground beef
  • 1 disc Whole grain toast
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tbsp Mustard
  • Black pepper from the mill
  • Salt
  • Oil

currysauce

  1. Heat some olive oil in a saucepan and sweat the onion, garlic and chilli in it, then add the curry powder and roast for a few minutes. Curry powder should always be roasted with it, only then will it develop its full taste.
  2. Now deglaze with the cola and boil it down until a thick syrup has formed. Then add the tomatoes, set to the lowest level and simmer for at least 1 hour, for me it was 5 hours. The longer, the better and more intense the taste.
  3. Then season with salt, sugar and pepper.

French fries

  1. Peel the potatoes and cut them into fries, we like them a little thicker – but that’s up to you. Dry the raw fries well with kitchen paper. Then put the oil in the deep fryer and heat it to 160 degrees.
  2. Now place the fries in portions in the frying basket and cook for 10 minutes, then drain well and degrease on kitchen paper. Continue doing this in portions. You can do this pre-cooking a few hours before eating.
  3. Then heat the deep fryer to 180 degrees and only put the fries back in portions in the frying basket and fry them until golden brown for 3 – 4 minutes. Degrease well again and season with salt.

Meatballs

  1. Crumble the wholemeal toast into a bowl, add the minced meat, egg, mustard and season with salt and pepper and then knead into a homogeneous dough, shape into meatballs and fry them in hot fat in a pan over medium heat until crispy on both sides.
  2. I didn’t add any more spices to the meatballs because there is the curry sauce, which is very tasty.

finish

  1. Arrange the fries and the meatballs on a plate. Pour the curry sauce over the meatballs and a little more curry powder over the curry sauce.
