Fish Fillets Baked in Tomato Sauce with Cheese

The perfect fish fillets baked in tomato sauce with cheese recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 4 Pc. Fish fillets, any kind
  • 1 Pc. Diced onion
  • 1 Pc. Clove of garlic
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 3 tbsp Tomato paste
  • 1 Can Chopped tomatoes
  • Salt pepper
  • 1 tsp Thyme
  • 1 tsp Oregano
  • 1 tsp Basil
  • Chili powder
  • 3 tbsp Cream
  • 0,5 Glass Capers
  • 0,5 tsp Sugar
  • 70 g Any grated cheese, e.g. a mixture of Gouda and Parmesan
  1. Sweat diced onions in heated oil. Squeeze in the garlic. Briefly toast the tomato paste in it, then deglaze with the chopped tomatoes. Chop the fresh herbs and add to the sauce with the sugar. Add the salt, pepper and a pinch of chili powder. Stir in the cream and capers. Simmer for a few minutes and then season to taste.
  2. Spread a few spoons of the sauce in a baking dish. Place the fish fillets next to each other on top. Cover with the remaining sauce. Finally sprinkle the grated cheese on top. Bake in the preheated oven on the middle rack at 200 degrees for about 30 minutes.
  3. The dish goes well with z. B. Prepare in the morning, then store in the refrigerator and put in the oven in the evening.
  4. This fits e.g. rice or baguette.
