Gyros Kritharaki Casserole

The perfect gyros kritharaki casserole recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 500 g Pork salmon
  • Salt
  • Gyros spice
  • 2 tbsp Thistle oil
  • 150 g Kritharaki rice noodles
  • 400 g Fresh mushrooms
  • 500 ml Tomatoes happened
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Chilli flakes
  • 100 g Processed cheese herbs
  • 100 ml Milk
  • 150 g Grated Emmental
  1. Cut the meat into pieces similar to gyros and season with salt and gyros spices. 2 tbsp. Add oil and mix. Let the meat steep for 1 hour.
  1. Line the baking dish with the gyros meat and mix with 150 g Kritharaki rice noodle. Wash, clean and slice the mushrooms and place on the casserole. (Unfortunately I only had canned mushrooms, but in an emergency ……)
  1. Spread the tomatoes over the top and season with salt, pepper and some chilli flakes (possibly herbs) to your own taste.
  1. Heat the milk and herb cheese in a saucepan while stirring until the processed cheese is dissolved. Then let it boil briefly. Spread the mixture over the casserole. Sprinkle everything with the grated Emmental.
  1. Cook the whole thing in the oven at 175 degrees for 1 hour, but cover the casserole with aluminum foil for the first 30 minutes so that the cheese does not get too dark. Good Appetite
