Canary Island Cheeseburger
The perfect canary island cheeseburger recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 1 kg Ground beef
- 2 Eggs
- 1 tsp Mustard
- 1 Flatbread thin
- 1 Tomato
- 1 Cucumber
- 4 Sliced cheese
- Mojo Picon
- Salt, pepper, cumin, hot paprika
- For the patties you need around 1kg for four people (can also be a bit more) minced beef. Mix the minced meat with two eggs well, season with salt, pepper, a little cumin, hot paprika and a dollop of mustard. Then shape as usual and fry in the pan.
- As a bun, you can of course use the usual burger bun, but I prefer thin flatbread. Both variants are toasted in the pan until they are slightly crispy.
- The remaining ingredients are green lettuce, tomatoes, a cucumber and sliced cheese.
- The most important thing after the meat is of course the sauce. I swear by Mojo Picon, a slightly spicy sauce from the Canary Islands. Is available in well-stocked supermarkets.
- I put in the salad briefly beforehand. A little vinegar and oil, as well as a mixture of ready-made herbs, are enough, we want to keep the workload manageable
- Finally, cover the burger in the following order: bread, a lettuce leaf, the meat, a slice of cheese (can be left out if you like), a good dollop of sauce, a thin tomato and cucumber slice and more bread.
