Zebra Cake with Topping for Children
The perfect zebra cake with topping for children recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
All-in batter:
- 300 g Wheat flour
- 2 tsp Baking powder
- 200 g Sugar
- 2 packet Bourbon vanilla sugar
- 4 piece Eggs size M.
- 12 tbsp Lukewarm water
- 20 tbsp Cooking oil
- 4 tsp Unsweetened cocoa
For the cast:
- 200 g Powdered sugar
- 8 tsp Freshly squeezed lemon juice
For decoration:
- Some colorful mini smarties
- Have all the ingredients weighed and ready. Grease and flour the base of the springform pan (24cm). Preheat the oven. Top / bottom heat: around 180 ° C, hot air: around 160 ° C
- For the all-in batter, mix the flour and baking powder in a mixing bowl. Add the remaining ingredients – except for the cocoa – and mix everything with a mixing spoon to form a smooth dough. Halve the amount of dough and stir under half the cocoa.
- First put 1-2 tablespoons of light dough in the middle of the pan and then 1-2 tablespoons of dark dough directly on top of each other. In this way, fill in the light and dark dough alternately one on top of the other. Put the pan on the wire rack in the oven (lower third) and bake the cake for about 40 minutes.
- Let the cake stand in the pan for another 10 minutes. Then carefully remove it from the mold and let it cool down on a cake rack.
- For the icing, sieve the powdered sugar and stir it with enough lemon juice to create a thick icing. Put the topping on the cake with a teaspoon and decorate it with chocolate lentils. Let the pour set.
