Drink tea for a hangover in the morning
The evening was long and alcohol flowed freely. The next morning brings a heavy hangover. But some herbs have also grown against it. Simply brew a tea from the following medicinal herbs:
- Ginger : It is not uncommon for a hangover to be accompanied by unpleasant nausea and nausea. Ginger, on the other hand, is a tried and tested household remedy that helps very well. To do this, cut a thumb-sized piece of ginger from a fresh bulb or brew a tea from dried ginger. The longer you let it steep, the stronger the effect. A steeping time of 5 to 15 minutes is usual. Ginger also helps to quench the so-called “burn”, the extreme feeling of thirst after drinking alcohol.
- Marjoram : If the hangover gives you severe headaches, stomach pains and dizziness, you are well served with a marjoram tea. Pour hot, not boiling water over 1 teaspoon of dried marjoram and leave to stand for five minutes. Then drink in small sips.
- Acorns : A tea made from acorns increases general well-being and gives new strength. The energy supplier contains many proteins, starch and sugar. Pour hot water over a pinch of ground acorn powder. It is best to drink the anti-hangover tea first thing in the morning.
- Parsley : Chop 50g of parsley. To do this, squeeze a lemon and an orange. Put everything in a saucepan and add 1L of water. Bring it all to a boil and let it simmer for 15 minutes. Strain the mixture and let it cool. Pour the drink into a bottle and keep it in the fridge for a maximum of three days. After a hangover, take several teaspoons cold, spread throughout the day.
- Onions : Peel 500g of onions and cut into pieces. Crush the pieces, put everything in a bowl and pour over 1.5 L milk. Leave the mixture in the fridge for a day. Drink a cup each morning, noon and evening of the hangover day and you’ll be fit again.
- Yarrow : With a tea made from this medicinal herb, you support your body in breaking down the alcohol again quickly. Brew 2 teaspoons of dried yarrow in a cup, steep for five minutes, and then drink quickly. This stimulates kidney activity and toxins are filtered out.
More hangover tips
Many people prefer to spend the entire following day in bed when they have a hangover. However, this is the wrong way.
- A hangover breakfast strengthens you first thing in the morning. It is best to eat eggs with bacon, vegetables, wholemeal bread smeared with cream cheese and pickles. A broth in the morning can also work wonders. It’s warm, easy on the stomach, and a great alternative for those who don’t like tea.
- In order to be able to break down the alcohol more quickly, you should serve yoghurt or quark with fruit or honey. These foods help the liver clean itself.
- Do not drink coffee or acidic drinks such as orange juice. Both would irritate the stomach even more.
- Take a long shower. At the end, set the water to lukewarm to cold. Use it to shower from your feet up to your head. It refreshes and makes you feel alive.
- Go for a walk after breakfast and a shower. The fresh air fills up the oxygen tanks and also blows the hangover out of the body.
