These juices help with iron deficiency
Iron deficiency is more common in women of childbearing age. Menstrual periods and childbirth are often the triggers for the deficiency. You can counteract this with some juices.
- It is known that the absorption of iron improves when this is done in combination with other vitamins. Therefore, it makes sense to choose juices that are not only high in iron but also rich in vitamin C.
- Both are particularly well represented in the red currant. Both vitamin C and iron content are particularly high in this fruit.
- If you prefer a different taste, you can also use plum juice or beetroot juice. Vitamin C and iron are also present here in large quantities.
- Sour cherry juice is also popular for counteracting iron deficiency. This tastes particularly good in combination with apple juice, which is also a good source of iron and vitamin C.
Make your juice for iron deficiency
Some people don’t like the typical tastes of various juices. You can therefore simply mix your juice.
- All you need is the juices of your choice that you particularly like. For example, mix apple juice with raspberry juice and discover a whole new taste. Top it all off with some still water.
- If you like drinking juice spritzers, you can also mix a multivitamin juice with cherry juice. This mixture is poured with 1/3 sparkling water.
- The self-squeezed juices are also very tasty. These also get plenty of vitamin C and iron, provided you choose the right fruit. Lemons contain a lot of vitamin C. Therefore, squeeze out 3 to 4 lemons and mix them into blackcurrant juice. This way the juice does not become too acidic and is very rich in vitamin C and iron.
- If you have an acute iron deficiency, drink the juices mentioned 2 to 3 times a day. As a preventive measure, you can also incorporate these drinks into your everyday routine and enjoy a glass of delicious juice every day.
