Nutrients in the apple: That’s really in it
There are thousands of different apple varieties all over the world. If we can only buy a handful of them in stores. In principle, however, there are important nutrients in every apple, in some a little more, in some a little less.

- Most of the nutrients, around three-quarters of them, are located directly below the skin of the apple. For this reason, you should wash the apple thoroughly and eat it with the peel.
- About 85 percent of the apple is just water. For this reason, the apple only has between 50 and 90 calories per 100 grams.
- Depending on the variety, the content of vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients also varies. The weather, storage, and fertilization also have an influence on nutritional values.
- Even on the tree itself, the apples develop differently. If the apple grows on the outside of the tree, it has slightly more vitamins than an apple that grows further inside.
