Steam rice properly – that’s how it works

With the right materials and preparation, you can steam rice expertly:

  • First, you should organize a rice steamer.
  • Fill the saucepan with water and place it on the stove.
  • If you are using the bamboo basket for the first time, we recommend that you soak it in water for a few hours. This will soften the bamboo aroma a bit.
  • Place the included bamboo basket on the saucer. This must be placed securely so that it cannot fall down.
  • Line the bamboo basket with a tea towel and fill the basket with rice. Then fold the cloth over the rice.
  • Now you can heat the water and the steam will gently cook the rice. Always make sure that there is enough water in the saucer.
  • If you soaked the rice for four hours, you need to cook it for about 30 to 40 minutes.
  • You can shorten the cooking time if you boil the rice for five minutes before steaming.
