Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 250 g onion(s)
  • 300 g pork
  • 300 g beef
  • 100 g bacon, streaky
  • 500 g sauerkraut
  • 500 ml meat broth
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 cup crème fraîche
  • 2 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp paprika powder, hot
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 tbsp water

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Peel the onion and slice it. Wash and dry the meat, then cut it into 2 cm cubes. Dice the bacon and fry it. Add the onion and sauté for about 5 minutes. Add the paprika and tomato paste and stir in. Now add the meat and season with salt and pepper. Spoon the sauerkraut over the meat. Pour the broth over everything and let it simmer for about 1.5 hours. Then stir in the crème fraîche. Mix the cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water and use it to thicken the goulash. Season again with salt and pepper. Serve hot.
