Steamed dumplings in the oven

Make a smooth dough from flour, yeast, milk, egg, sugar, and butter and let it rise for 30 minutes. Don’t be surprised, the dough will still be very soft. Mix again and then, adding a little more flour so the dough comes away from your hands, form 6 equal-sized dumplings and place them in a greased baking dish. Cover and let rise for another 20 minutes. Mix the additional 150 ml of lukewarm milk with the tablespoon of sugar and pour evenly over the risen dumplings before baking. Now bake in the oven at 200°C for approx. 35-45 minutes. Tastes best served warm with cold vanilla sauce and cherry compote.
