Spread the love

Ingredients for 5 servings:

  • 2 eggs
  • 100 g butter, melted
  • some salt
  • lots of nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp broth (from the soup broth in which the dumplings are to be cooked)
  • plenty of breadcrumbs as needed

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 3 minutes; Total time approx. 13 minutes

simple and vegetarian, perfect for any clear soup

Whisk two eggs and 100g melted butter in a bowl with a fork. Add a pinch of salt and plenty of nutmeg, if desired. Add 2 tablespoons of soup stock. Knead in enough breadcrumbs until you have a dough that’s easy to knead and won’t fall apart (as shown in the picture). Roll the dough into dumplings. To finish, add the dumplings to boiling soup and wait until they rise to the surface. This recipe is intended as an addition to a large pot of soup.
