Dead Grandma Thuringian Style

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 400 g black pudding, Thuringian, (Grützwurst, unseasoned)
  • 100 g bacon, green or more
  • 1 large onion(s)
  • 1 pinch of marjoram
  • 1 pinch(s) thyme
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Margarine, for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Sauté the green bacon and then the finely diced onion in turn. Then slice the Thuringian black pudding/Grützwurst and add it to a pan heated with melted margarine. Stir in the bacon and onion, seasoning to taste with salt, pepper, marjoram, and thyme. When the Grützwurst has formed a mass and is piping hot, divide it among the plates. I like to serve the “Dead Grandma” with mashed potatoes.
