Potato gratin

Spread the love

Ingredients for 12 servings:

  • 4 kg potatoes
  • 200 g lean ham, diced
  • 3 large onions
  • 3 cups of cream
  • 200 g cream cheese spread
  • 200 g processed cheese with herbs
  • 200 g cheese, grated (Gouda)
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour

Peel the potatoes and boil in salted water for 15 minutes. Let them cool slightly and then slice them (this works well with an egg slicer). Heat the cream and cream cheese in a saucepan; do not boil. Stir well until the cheese and cream are combined. Dice the onions and fry them in a pan with the ham until translucent. Layer half of the potato slices in a fan shape in a large baking dish, season well with pepper and salt, then add the ham and onion mixture and layer the remaining potatoes on top. Season with salt and pepper and sprinkle with cheese. Pour the cream cheese mixture over the top. Cover with aluminum foil and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for 40 minutes.
