Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 800 ml water
  • 130 g cornstarch
  • 300 g sugar
  • ½ cup rose water (small Turkish coffee cup)
  • n. B. Food coloring, red, approx. 8 – 9 drops
  • e.g. cornstarch or desiccated coconut to cover

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 3 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 3 hours 20 minutes

Rose Turkish Delight, sweets

Combine cornstarch, sugar, red food coloring, and rose water in a small bowl, then gradually add the water. Mix until smooth and liquid. Place the bowl on the stove, bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally, and simmer until the Turkish delight thickens. Pour into a long, narrow glass dish, smooth the surface, and refrigerate for about 2-3 hours. Remove from the dish, cover with cornstarch, and then cut into cubes. Top with desiccated coconut or more cornstarch, depending on your taste. Turkish delight is usually served with Turkish coffee.
