Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g flour
  • 75 g sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 40 g yeast
  • 250 ml milk
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 200 g lard
  • e.g. powdered sugar
  • Flour for the work surface

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

Sift the flour, sugar, and salt into a large bowl. Make a well in the center. Dissolve the yeast in the lukewarm milk and pour into the well. Cover with flour and let rise for 15 minutes. Mix the oil with the eggs, pour in, and knead everything into a dough. Let rise in a warm place until doubled in size. Knead the dough again. Roll out very thinly into a rectangle on a floured surface. Melt the lard and brush it over the dough. Roll up the dough from the long side. Let rest for one hour. Roll the rolled strand into a spiral shape. Cover and let rise until the dough has risen nicely. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for one hour until golden brown. Dust with powdered sugar.
