Patatas with chorizo and salsa de naranje

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 500 g potatoes
  • 8 tbsp oil (olive oil)
  • 1 tsp salt and pepper, black
  • 8 tbsp orange juice, freshly squeezed
  • 2 onions
  • 1 chili pepper(s)
  • 1 tbsp currants
  • 150 g sausage (chorizo)

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Spanish potato pan

Peel the potatoes, cut them into sixths lengthwise, and fry them all over in olive oil over low heat. Season with salt and pepper, add the orange juice, and simmer in a covered pan for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, peel the onions and slice them thinly. Trim the chili pepper and finely chop it along with the currants. Thinly slice the sausage. Toss the potatoes, add the onions and the currant mixture. Cook in a covered pan for another 10 minutes. Finally, add the sausage and heat through. This is technically a tapa, but we usually make it as a quick, easy main course. If you like onions, you can of course increase the quantity, but then you’ll need a bit more juice. If you can’t find chorizo, you can also use a different, slightly spicier sausage.
