Feta (sheep's cheese) on tomatoes and onions, baked in a pan

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 slice(s) feta cheese (sheep’s cheese)
  • 4 tomatoes (cocktail vine tomatoes)
  • 1 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 1 herb butter
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • salt and pepper
  • basil

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 5 minutes

Chop the onion into pieces (not diced, slightly larger). Cut the tomatoes into 3-4 cm pieces. Briefly sauté the onions over medium heat, then add the tomatoes for 2-3 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, and basil. Don’t be too stingy with the salt; the cheese hardly adds any flavor. Add 2/3 of the diced garlic. Place the slice of feta cheese in the middle, on a bed of onions. Arrange the tomatoes around it. Place the remaining garlic on the feta cheese. Cover the pan. Continue simmering over low heat. 5 minutes before the end (test the firmness of the feta), place thin slices of herb butter on the cheese. Serve with fresh baguette or toast. Enjoy.
