Fried green asparagus with lemon and feta cheese

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 800 g asparagus, green
  • 125 g feta cheese
  • 4 tbsp sesame oil or olive oil
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 lemon(s), organic, peel and juice
  • 1 tsp oregano, dried
  • 1 pinch(s) paprika powder
  • 1 tsp Pul Biber

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Greek recipe

Cut off about 1-1.5 cm from the end of the green asparagus and peel the bottom third with a vegetable peeler. Mix the ingredients for the marinade and set aside. Finely chop the feta cheese. Heat the sesame oil in a large pan. Add the asparagus and season with salt and pepper. Cook over medium heat for about 10-12 minutes, turning frequently, until al dente. It works best if the asparagus is covered with aluminum foil while frying. Pour the marinade over the cooked asparagus and let it simmer for a while. Arrange the asparagus on a plate. Pour the marinade from the pan over the asparagus and scatter the feta cheese on top. Serve with baked potatoes or baguette.
